Full course description
ASL 1 will introduce students to the culture and history of American Sign Language, while actively developing students' ability to comprehend and express themselves in American Sign Language. Students will be evaluated for grammar use and structure, comprehension, communication strategies, and cultural awareness. Students will actively engage in practice every day in a virtual classroom through the modeling/imitation/expansion model in addition to worksheets and class textbook activities. Topics will include: introductions and personal information, politeness, descriptions, requests, expressing yourself.
